All wounds are not meant to heal.
Some wounds are so painful, deep and agonizing that it's easily triggered or "best" to suppress it. Our wounds affect how we see the world, others and ourselves. Healing from our wounds may be life changing and relieving but not healing can be familiar and "safe". We adapt to live with our wounds and it can be scary to live without our wounds.
