Slow down, repace, then reapproach

When emotions are high, it can be extremely difficult to slow down long enough to calm down. However, slowing down your system may help to increase control over you emotions. Repacing involves moving at a speed that allows you to remain calm. Then, reapproach from a space of calm ness, which allows you to effectively communicate your needs and feelings.
